Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung: the Foundation for social democracy!
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is the oldest political foundation in Germany with a rich tradition in social democracy dating back to its inception in 1925. In its international work, FES today supports policies for peaceful cooperation and human rights, promotes the establishment and consolidation of democratic, social and constitutional structures and is a pioneer for free trade unions and a strong civil society. The work of FES focuses on the core ideas and values of social democracy – freedom, justice and solidarity. As a non-profit institution, FES organizes its work autonomously and independently.

About FES Connect
With offices in more than 100 countries, FES is regularly in touch with a large, yet very unique, diverse and vibrant community of people, partners and friends. Among them are policy makers, young leaders, trade unionists, opinion leaders, researchers and media practitioners in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. As an English language portal serving this community, FES Connect sources content published across the German and international network of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. At the end of each month we select the most compelling debates and stories and send them to you through the FES Connect news brief.
Through this platform, we also encourage you to share your contributions, opinions and thoughts. Follow us, contact us, write for us, connect and act together!
