Since 2016, the Reflection Group on the 2030 Agenda has been publishing the Spotlight Report on Sustainable Development, an independent annual report that assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the 2030 Agenda, with a focus on structural obstacles to its implementation. Among the goals under review in 2019 is SDG 10 on reducing inequalities in and between countries. The Spotlight Report 2019 looks into the role of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in this regard. Read it on the official website www.2030spotlight.org starting 8 July.

A global transatlantic network combats far-right propaganda and extremism

Every year, members of an international network from both sides of the Atlantic meet to plan steps and strategies to combat right-wing extremism globally. In May 2019, the network got together in Berlin, home of the project Against Right-Wing Extremism by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, convening the network meetings since 2002. The work of the future

We must start talking about asymmetry to address the challenges digitalization poses to the work of the future in Latin America.What actions are needed to render a growing digitalized society in Latin America socially just, inclusive and people-centered? In this video, Victor Báez Mosqueira, General Secretary of the Trade Union Confederation of the America's (TUCA), fleshes out the challenges that the continent faces entering into the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In October, he was in Bogotá to participate in a workshop on "Women and the Future of Work" jointly organized by TUCA and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. An ode to what should be done with the SDGs that have begun

"The world is off-track in terms of achieving sustainable development and fundamental policy changes are necessary to unleash the transformative potential of the SDGs”. This is the main message of the new report Spotlight on Sustainable Development 2018: Exploring New Policy Pathways by the Civil Society Reflection Group on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Nuclear disarmament and arms control ― German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas at the Tiergarten Conference

The Tiergarten Conference is the annual congress of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung that deals with international, foreign and security policies. Since 2012, policymakers and international experts come together to discuss and analyze strategic issues of global concern in order to develop progressive options for action.

This year German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas was part of it. He called upon the international community for a bigger commitment and stronger engagement in ensuring the global disarmament process and arms control.
